Welcome to the News community!
Rules:
1. Be civil
Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.
2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.
Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.
3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.
Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.
4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.
Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.
5. Only recent news is allowed.
Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.
6. All posts must be news articles.
No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.
7. No duplicate posts.
If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.
8. Misinformation is prohibited.
Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.
9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.
All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.
10. Don't copy entire article in your post body
For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

Tim Curry, Star. I don't know where I saw it but my favorite quote about him:
"Tim Curry was in a lot of one star films but he was the reason those films had that star."
he was pretty fantastic and epically creepy in Lexx
holy shit, i haven't heard/thought about that show in over 20 years!
you just reminded me of a period in my life where i was entering puberty and living off a steady diet of zev bellringer and seven of nine.... before we had access to internet boobs.
Eva Habermann did in fact have one scene in the whole show where she was tits out. Of course, that scene occurred in Stanley's dream.
It was such a weird show. I'm afraid to rewatch it
I have it downloaded, but I also have a 13 year old kid, there's so much random weird sexual shit that I know they'd walk in at the worst possible scenes.
I see you aren't trained in the art of the ‘boss key’, which minimizes the current app.
He was also pretty fantastic and epically creepy in Earth 2
Comedy - drama.
Dolly Parton owns a Country and Western bar that is sitting on a giant oil well. Evil billionaire Dabney Coleman wants to get it without paying what it's worth. He hires crooked lawman Jackie Gleason to arrest Dolly on trumped up charges.
Dolly goes in front of Judge Patti LaBelle, who sentences her to six hundred hours of community service. Coleman and Gleason want her jailed, so Gleason sends her to work at the state psychiatric facility, a place that amke's Batman's Arkham look like a kindergarten.
Tim is a long term catatonic who hasn't spoken since the death of his long term partner. He's been laying in filth for years.
While being forced to clean near his cell, Dolly starts singing to raise her spirits. One of the other staff hears it and puts in on the PA system.
Tim starts singing along with her, the first time he's shown any response to anything in years.
The administrator, Paul Reubens, decides to make Dolly responsible for Tim. Apparently he comes from a pretty influential family, and curing him would be a big win for Paul.
Tim only responds to music. His actual personality remains buried as he morphs through Elvis, Janet Jackson, Tom Waites, Maria Callas, and others.
Meanwhile, Coleman has come up with a legal loophole to let him seize the bar. Gleason has been intercepting US mail informing Dolly she must appear in front of a judge or face having her bar declared a public menace.
Dolly finds out about this hearing at the last minute and has to race to get there on time [montage with car crashes, motorcycles, etc etc]
Dolly got the note and ran out of a session with Tim. He picks up the note and has a profound change [ we can make this funny or compelling, Tim can do either.] Suddenly himself again, he marches to the administrator's office...
Dolly gets to the courtroom seconds before judgement is passed. She looks like an insane woman from her adventure. The crooked judge [ Tommy Lee Jones ]and Coleman's lawyers [pick your own lineup of sleazoids] let her rattle on. "Let her talk, she's making our case for us!"
At the last possible second, Tim and the administrator arrive. Turns out, Tim is a accredited member of the bar. Even in his hospital gown and bathrobe he easily refutes the entire case as Dolly stares on in wonder.
And it turns out that Coleman is actually Tim's cousin who signed him into 'treatment' years ago to get control of the family fortune. Tim demands that the judge deem him compos mentis and give him back control of his estate. And finally Tim points to Gleason as one of the members of the mob that killed his partner all those years ago.
At the big party Dolly throws for herself Tim arrives dressed as like Elton John on acid. Dolly's frineds are horrified at first, but once he starts singing they start rolling with it.
After the performance Tim comes to Dolly. She's afraid he's lost his mind again. He acts nuts for a few minutes then starts speaking rationally again. He thanks her for everything she's done and they finish with a great duet.
Dan Akroyd and John Lithgow should be the sleazy lawyers.
I once suggested Akroyd for a replacement as Bruce Wayne in the Tim Burton Batman movies.
Tall, big jaw, good at physical stuff, and great with voices. Bulk him up and let him go.
Feel free to add anything else.
