I just don't believe any human would put out a statement with an em dash in 2026. It's the thing
i started using them because of ai. lol
Fighting fire with fire — i like it!
Where do you think it learned it from lol
you're absolutely right.
lol
I use 'em.
My hyperbolic analogy is a swastika. Sure, the swastika had been in use for 10,000 years before Germany existed....but a company probably isn't putting one on their letter head in 2026.
It's as iconic for AI slop as It's Not X, It's Y
to an untrained eye who hasn't read anything but internet posts, sure, but people use them in other places and that still carries on into internet prose sometimes.
Wow, what a douche way to insult someone. You think you have to be terminally online to be aware of the two biggest signs that text is from an LLM?
It's not the 2010s anymore, we've had LLMs posting slop for years now. Use your favorite search engine and tell me what the top result says. Probably the same as the Wikipedia page. Search your work email, there's a good chance you got the same tips from HR.
Knowing what it looks like isn't as niche as you're implying. And in the context of a public statement from a media company, an em dash SHOULD raise an eyebrow in 2026. Unless you think a human wrote this.
You will have to pry the em—dash from my cold, dead fingers. AI may take my job, but I will damned if it takes the em—dash from me.
