The DOnkey Kong Country series is one of my favorites from the SNES era, always recommend them if you like platforming games. There's also a team in Brazil making a DKC4 that looks RAD as hell, but it isn't out until November.
Ooohhh donkey Kong could be fun!
I have a rom hack of DKC2 called "The Lost Levels" that's been really fun so far. More challenging than the original game without being Kaizo levels of hard. I can point you to a link for that, it came already pre-patched so you can just dump it in your ROMs folder and point the emulator to it.
