I'm on CachyOS and would like to play the native linux version of Marathon (and other native linux ports for that matter) but I've got no clue where to get them, and am not too keen on buying them. Any idea where I may find it?

The one game I play that has a native linux version, KSP, actually runs better using the windows version through proton than it does with the native linux version.

this is true for quite many games to the point it's painful. many linux native games are very badly optimized and even if they work is sometimes a pain to make them work (specific non-bundled libraries versions, compiled for 32bit systems which are being deprecated from many distros, )

unless the game is quite trivial or known to be well optimized, using wine will probably be easier and sometimes even better
