I used to listen to a podcast called The Deprogram as a comfort podcast but as time went on its hosts seemed to run out of things to say on communism so they started to give their limited views on life as episodes without any serious education about Marxism's connection to things like marriage, disability, health, and love. In this their privilege as cis het able bodied men came forward but I kept holding on for nostalgia but I have I finally let go of it.

Out of curiosity what is wrong with suggesting people join an org? Or is it the type of orgs he recommends? I feel like that is the best advice you can give leftists in America

Yeah, its the type of orgs. I have some misgivings about them. Its not the worst possible advice, because even in a bad org you might make good connections with local comrades, but you also might get turned off of organizing entirely.

Its hard to give blanket advice and its hard to find comrades to organize with outside of existing national orgs, but those orgs specifically don't have a great reputation, at least in my area, and IMO are not what I would recommend to new comrades
