I'm looking forward to them bringing out SteamOS with NVIDIA support. I hope that leads to improvements for NVIDIA cards, so people who don't have AMD cards have an easier time moving to Linux as opposed it being a buggier experience that has people go back to Windows.
This is the only reason I’m using Endeavour and not Bazzite. Even with Bazzite’s dedicated nVidia option, it performed horribly on my hardware and no one responded to my questions whether it was the forum or Discord. SteamOS definitely isn’t designed to play nice with nVidia (yet).
And overall, nVidia stability hasn’t been great with Linux. My next system will definitely be AMD.
RTX or GTX?
RTX 4070. And it works okay outside Bazzite and great in Endeavor. It’s just whatever optimizations have been done to SteamOS don’t agree with my hardware config.
I recently upgraded my desktop and my laptop (with broken keys that I can’t seem to fix) is staying in a backpack until I can put steamos on it. It’s got an nvidia card in it so this would be a godsend.
