Yes, that sounds familiar. I'm probably on the spectrum but I've never been screened for it
For me, it's just good to know that there are other people who think like me and that it's a perfectly valid (if maybe unpopular) to navigate the world. I don't have a diagnosis, either, and I don't know what "having" it would mean since it's such a wide range of characteristics and traits. The important thing is to know who I am.
Wait I thought you said you did get a diagnosis? Or does a "peer-reviewed autism diagnosis" mean you got your autism card from other autistic people? Cause I think I have that already, at least...
And yeah, learning that there are other people like me who understand me and what it's like to live as a person like me is a really helpful thing. It's like solidarity in a way. It makes it easier to accept myself for who I am
