Why is the title different?
We like to have fun here.
What is this place? A safe space for underrepresented peoples and peoples of color to talk, chill, and vibe.
What are the basic rules of the community?

Follow Lemmy TOS and Community Guidelines. Non negotiable. This is the bedrock and mods will make decisions with this always in mind.

This community is for ethnic minorities and people of color. This is a safe space where such people can freely discuss their struggles, insight, and thoughts without fear. If you are not, we respectfully ask you do not post or comment here. A future community will be established to allow for racial discussions with a mixed userbase. However, remember, comments here must still respect Lemmy TOS and Community Guidelines.

Stupidpol is not allowed. Stupidpol is class reductionist. We are an identity community. Thinking like stupidpol ignores the struggles of the oppressed, their voices, and their need for unique support. Nothing says oppression more than someone saying that the identity you have is "not real" and that if you only thought like them you'd see what your "real" identity is. Mods reserve the right to ban users and content who promote stupidpol, stupidpol memes, and other class reductionist thinking.

I don't look XYZ and/or sometimes I can pass as white so I don't know if I can post here. Can I?

This place is for ethnic minorities and people of color. This includes those of mixed heritage and those who may be "white" but are of an ethnicity that is a minority in their area (i.e. Kurds, etc) If you've experienced oppression due to your identity that is not based on sexual / gender identification, you are welcome here.

Moreover, for our American audience, we have people from around the world who are "white" but are oppressed due to being a minority in their country. They are and should be welcomed here.

Assata Shakur, born on this day in 1947, is a revolutionary socialist and former member of the Black Liberation Army (BLA) who became the first woman to be added to the FBI's Most Wanted Terrorists list in 2013.

Shakur grew up in New York City and Wilmington, North Carolina. She became involved in political activism at Borough of Manhattan Community College and City College of New York, participating in sit-ins and civil rights protests.
After graduating from college, Shakur briefly joined the Black Panther Party, leading its Harlem chapter. She left the Panthers and joined the Black Liberation Army, a black power group that was inspired by the Viet Cong and Algerian resistance movements and waged guerrilla warfare against the U.S. government from 1970 to 1981. Shakur was one of the targets of the FBI's COINTELPRO program.
After being involved in a shootout with New Jersey police officers, Shakur was convicted on multiple counts of assault and murder and sentenced to life in prison. In 1979, BLA members freed her in a bloodless prison escape.
Shakur successfully sought political asylum in Cuba, where she died on September 25, 2025, at the age of 78

I think far too many people over there have internalized Zionist talking points. One of them is treating Jewishness as an ethnicity instead of a religion. And like every single other religion, you are free to distance or even leave the faith for a multitude of reasons. There are plenty of lapsed Catholics who no longer attend mass because of the rampant child abuse perpetuated by the Catholic clergy. It's commendable that they would rather face social ostracization by their local Catholic community than have part in a faith that actively tries to shelter child abusers. I don't think Catholics get to sit there and go, "well, the priests might abuse kids which I'm against, but I will still get on my knees and receive the Eucharist from the pedo priest because that's my religious identity." At bare minimum, I would expect the Catholic layperson who's sincerely against child abuse perpetuated by the Catholic church to not go to a church that has a pedo priest whose under investigation for being a pedo.
I don't see why the same logic can't be applied to Jews who are genuinely anti-Zionist. And while the Catholic church pays lip service towards bringing their pedo priests to justice even as they shelter them in practice, the Jewish clergy as a whole can't even be said to be nominally anti-Zionist. Outside of a small minority, largely from Jewish clergy living in AoR countries, Jewish clergy can be split between being proudly Zionist and quietly non-Zionist while still being Zionist in practice. How can a sincerely anti-Zionist Jew square this contradiction without either doing everything in their power to expel the Zionists from their synagogue by any means necessary or leaving the faith?
You'd be shot dead by any white person before they'd even consider hearing the logic.
