A visiting instructor arrives at the Academy and uses an unorthodox method to help our cadets process the emotions of recent trauma. At the same time, a cadet faces an unexpected challenge that will alter the trajectory of her life forever.

Considering her half Lanthanite heritage with a long lifespan, I was left wondering why Ake also didn't stay to raise Sam in the time dilated planet. They never address it, but I suppose it's just unspokenly weird to suggest to co-parent a child with your subordinate coworker.

Yeah, I think I remember thinking the same thing.

I suppose that it would be sensible to keep someone with the shuttle Just In Case, though, and the Doc would certainly be more welcome on Kasq.
