This is the problem: it doesn't suck, and pretending it does is only working to hide the problem.
Say what you will about Thirty Seconds to Mars, but they've sold a lot of albums and are very successful. You might not like their type of music, but a lot of people do and a lot of people like it.
Rooftops by Lostprophets was absolutely a banger (and I stand by this, even though I haven't listened to it since) and that guy was way worse.
People still listen to Chris Brown after he beat Rihanna to a pulp. Lots of women out there who would gladly take that beating for a night with him. And it doesn't help that he's a great singer. I'm not even really into R&B (though, 90s R&B was something else), but look, man can sing. I would very comfortably say he is a great singer, and I stand by that. Shitty person though.
It's easy to say their music sucks because they did a bad thing... but it doesn't... and people still support them.
Loads of other bands/musicians have done terrible things, and their fans are quick to forgive or overlook.
:ok: Something being popular doesn't mean it's good.
Also you should rethink that wording about women and Chris Brown, it sounds pretty gross to me.
even my 15 year old ass would have called you a loser for listening to 30 seconds to ass and would have encouraged you to listen to a real band like evanescence, deftones or minor threat
a lot of people liked hitler as well
It sucks and so do you
Fuckin yikes, dude. Check yourself.
a lot of people eat at mcdonalds every day. they get diarrhea from it and go right back to show their support.
is mcdonalds that good? or do marketing and promotion tie-in campaigns create hegemonic consumption patterns?
What the heck?
Get yourself checked man. You need help
