Look sometimes the sex is just hotter when you take time to establish the stakes. It's like how action scenes are more exciting when you know why the characters are trying to kill each other.
The fact that "being invested in the character we're watching fuck enhances the experience" is a bold, out-there concept is kinda sad.
I think "porn isn't art" is to a degree a self-fulfilling prophecy.
