If Mamdani can't actually do anything, what is the point of supporting him? One might almost think that the system is designed to stop people from destroying it via legal means.

What I'm doing is pointing out the legal limits of electoralism and your acting as though I'm in some Mamdani cult of personality. You have an unproductively campist view. Mamdani has utility and has limits. It is our responsibility to be objective about it.

he's currently really popular with high approval ratings and a list of accomplishments that make other democrats look like they sit around doing nothing all day.

a mayor can do some things, and cannot do others. the us has separations of powers, it has federalism.

JT from second thought/the deprogram did a video recently about what mamdani has accomplished so far and where he has fallen short of what we'd want.
