@Bougie_Birdie @return2ozma
Out-of-topic but serious, to bounce on your pun :
We have that in France in another context, not related to sexual activities. Giving a helping hand to someone whose presénce in France isn't considered legal. (max several years in prison and several k€ in fine, plus other harsh complementary sentences)
https://www.legifrance.gouv.fr/codes/id/LEGISCTA000042774527/

So, giving a place to sleep to a refugee from a country with harsh repression toward LGBT+ can in practice be harshly punished. (Not in theory, since there's an exception for pure humanitarian support, but he defendant will have to prove it and convince the court.)

Christ, that's essentially an "arrest Miep Gies" law. Even in the US there's no equivalent, at least not one that could apply for just giving someone a bed for the night. How the fuck does a country setup the law like that after spending the better part of WWII under Nazi occupation?

@PanGodofPanic Same as in the US and other european countries : by saying the real fascists are the antifascists. But France is one on the worst in the EU, if not the worst, in terms of repression of anything. When repression doesn't work, our politicians decalre that there were just not enough of it to work, and increase it.

The deshumanisation and othering of communities those in power don't like, by politicians and media alike, is well advanced and increasing. Our poorer citizens and inhabitants get poorer by the day and die of homelessness (or at home from extreme thermal conditions). Our richer scums get richer by the day.

Yeah capital·fasch·ism.

@PanGodofPanic
Also (un)fun fact about racist autoritarism: Our president has finally officially recognised Palestine as a country, and its people as oppressed, yet the state he leads still smear and punish support toward palestine or actions against the state and colonialism of Irael. Our country even provides weapon parts to Israël.

@PanGodofPanic And about "Even in the US there’s no equivalent, at least not one that could apply for just giving someone a bed for the night."

I'll take your word from it, but that's about laws. (And I understand law can be more complicated in a federation.)

However the US have ICE that just don't care about law. (Not better: FR has the BRAV-M and several police orgs to do the dirty work.)

At least one US judge was punished to have helped an "illegal immigrant" escape ICE because the targeted person wasn't convicted of illegal stay yet. (The judge knew: they were the one judging the case about the legality of ICE's target's presence in the US.)

@PanGodofPanic And if we complain, nationalist tell us: "La France, tu l'aimes ou tu la quittes".
It means "If you don't like France, leave France". They don't apply that to themselves except to escape taxes (see Pierre-Édouard Stérin), or judicial consequences of their harmful actions (see Thaïs d'Escufon).

@Bougie_Birdie @return2ozma On topic, fortunately there's no way a law to punish sexual practices with neither victims nor witnesses can be applied.
