and they all look the fucking same; colour, letters, "feel". Even my fav "real" yters are resorting to them. I now hover over them to see if there is a real person in there or an AI like that Asian guy with prolly 50 chans I've blocked along with that old white dude with glasses and a beard, only blocked him on 3 chans so far. We need an alternative to yt that will not allow AI. I'd rather they took a frame from the video and badly pasted on their text than this same same shit.
I mean I get it, after years of having to look for artists to make thumbsnails or hire people on fiverr instead of taking the time to learn to do it yourself, it is not hard but people are busy sure. I'm sure it's attractive to people to be able to type in a thing and get a semi professional good enough looking thing that looks basically how they want. I just don't have to like it or want to see it because as someone who learned all that stuff I find it pretty appalling
Tom Scott actually talked about this in his recent Wired video.
YouTube itself auto-generates and suggests these AI thumbnails. That's why they all look the same. Creators now also have to choose three thumbnails and titles and the system swaps between them. Imagine having to make three distinct thumbnail images and titles for each video. It's no wonder this samey AI generator images are so prevalent on the platform now, it takes three times the amount of effort to avoid it now.
