Massive Pixel 11 leak just revealed almost everything about Google's next phones (www.androidcentral.com)

Google accidentally listed the entire Pixel 11 series on Amazon a month early, revealing pricing, specs, and colors.

Prices are rising by $100 across the board, with the base Pixel 11 now starting at $899 with 256GB of storage.
Google is hit by the memory crisis, with base Pro and Pro XL variants dropping to 12GB of RAM instead of 16GB.
The Pixel 11 Pro Fold starts at $1,899 but drops to a smaller 4,750mAh battery, down from last year's 5,000mAh.

Well in the case of Pixel phones there's Gemini that can use a lot for on device stuff. Apps can also use quite a bit nowadays, you can definitely see the difference between 6 and 12-16GB of ram.

Interesting. I wouldn't have expected commercial AI assistants to compute a lot of stuff on device. For speed / response time reasons, and battery drain. Other than maybe speech recognition... Guess I'm not up to date anymore. I haven't tried Gemini. Most fancy stuff I use is speech recognition and Google Lens, respectively "Offline Translator" to translate Chinese, Japanese or Korean writing on products in the Asia supermarket. That app is perfectly alright with just the 6GB on my phone. But yeah, generative AI in form of a large language model or an image generator won't fit. I've tried a few other open-source local AI apps and it can't do any of the usable AI models.
