Lowkey I can't imagine radicalizing a bunch of prisoners to leftism would be that hard, given the liberal system had shunned them.

It isn't difficult at all if the situation is left as it normally would be without extra state interventions. The reason various "betterment" programs exist in imperial core prisons is specifically to counteract and undermine left organizing within them. Someone that is "reducing their sentence" by working at a fast food joint 80% of their waking hours is hard to organize. Someone that thinks they are getting something like a college education out of the situation doesn't want to disrupt it.
