What is global news?

Something that happened or was uncovered recently anywhere in the world. It doesn't have to have global implications. Just has to be informative in some way.

Post guidelines

Title formatPost title should mirror the news source title. If you don't like the title of article, look for an alternative source instead of editorializing it.
URL formatPost URL should be the original link to the article (even if paywalled) and archived copies left in the body. It allows avoiding duplicate posts when cross-posting.
[Opinion] prefixOpinion (op-ed) articles must use [Opinion] prefix before the title. Opinion articles refer to articles that their publisher doesn't explictly endorse.
Country prefixCountry prefix can be added to the title with a separator (|, :, etc.) if the news is from a local publisher who doesn't clearly mention the country.

"Anti-zionism" has turned into antisemitism. This obvious to anyone that hasn't been conditioned by this particular hate group.

Racism is difficult to measure, because if you poll people they will often lie about it. People will often lie about it themselves. "I'm not racist I just want the government to do something about those illegals. It's about the law, that's not racist!" In this case it's more "I'm not antisemitic, I'm just criticizing Israel... at my local synagogue... because the internet told me all Jews are Zionists."

But what we can measure is the fact that hate crimes against Jews has increased worldwide, those crimes often coincide with events in the Middle East. You rationalize that as being ok because you're in a hate group afraid of being ostracized or becoming a target of others within your group if you make any action in opposition to the antisemitism within your group.

When countries start taking action against your hate group, you'll rationalize those countries as being in the wrong with conspiracy theories, often antisemitic in nature. This is what it's like to be in a hate group. You're incapable of seeing the facts, you think that when people are protecting themselves from your actions that makes you the victims. You feel entitled to behave in horrible ways against people of a certain ethnicity and/or religious group because of things you saw on then internet.

Germany has a history with hate groups. They know what "Anti-zionism" really is.

You're very broadly generalizing all antizionists into one big antisemitic basket. Which makes no sense especially given the existence of antizionist jewish groups.

Of course antizionism can devolve into antisemitism, and we shouldn't ignore that. But equating the two is really fucking dangerous since it essentially preempts any criticism of Israel as antisemitism. And when Israel is committing genocide, that's not an acceptable position to take.

I feel for jewish people worldwide who had to suffer because Israel is committing genocide and some numnuts blames them for it. I do. But this pales in comparison with the suffering inflicted upon Palestinians. And let's not forget that there have been synagogues who have openly espoused genocidal rhetoric, which makes them a valid target for protest (a protest at a church espousing Nazi rhetoric isn't racist towards christians, nor is one at a mosque promoting Al-Qaeda islamophobic).

On a sidenote, conflating antizionism with antisemitism means claiming being against the Israeli government is being against jewish people in general, which is a deeply antisemitic statement to make. I assume it wasn't your intention but you should be very careful of your language.
