My wife and I love to binge watch scary movies in October. Looking for stuff that's truly scary and not just gore. Watcha got?

There are different genres of horror. Personally I like mid to late 1970s. Think Halloween with Jamie Curtis, or When A Stranger Calls.

Don’t be afraid to dig into the past, like John Carpenter’s version of The Fog. Or Tobe Hooper’s mini series of Salems Lot. There’s also the 70s classic, Carrie.

If you want to go further back, there are some fun anthology movies from the 60s like Twice Told Tales with Vincent Price.

Carrie ❤ And don't forget about Carpenter's remake of The Thing!

Which of the old movies still hold up great? They may have pioneered many things, but since then those things have been so widely used in later horror movies that they feel cliché, even though they did it first, if that makes sense.
