I would like to see them try. If they try to force chat control onto European linux computers we can just get our OS updates from african or asian servers VPN traffic can be disguised. Even the Chinese have problem detecting and blocking it. SSH tunnels can replace VPN's. SSH has plenty of legitimate uses.
Even if they somehow manage to seize total control of the internet (which is VERY unlikely) we could just switch to a completely different protocol like meshtastic

We wouls be just ignoring their moves, and well... you know very well that countries like to follow each other and apply same or similar laws, right?
This is very sad as it restricts freedoms of potential moving, but the number of countries which we can SSH/VPN to and do whatever would be growing smaller and smaller
Yes. The fact that we have to go out of our way to prevent government espionage is infuriating
