If they confirm it earlier, JD serves more than half a term making him ineligible for reelection
Either way he would be eligible for 2028, just maybe not 2032.
Frankly, Vance might not be who they want to be stuck with as a candidate. The MAGA folks are..."fine" with him but they aren't exactly excited about him.
Don't know who it would be, but wouldn't be surprised if they are eager to identify a more energizing candidate.
2028 will be alex jones/tucker carlson ticket vs. hillary clinton
And people will be too dumb to vote for Clinton again.
