This guy is a weird spiritual business guru. This post isn't an observation on modern American life, it's one of his many posts that try to sell you on his business where he claims that he can teach you how to monetize your passions and not have to actually work

Their intentions do not disqualify the legitimate point made though. As a European, the last time I considered I could maybe live in the former united states was around 1997. So well before it turned full-on shithead Magastan.

Does he keep meeting Americans that moved and didn't know life could be that way though?

I know my job is to make software for factories but trust me when I say

I keep meeting people who didn't know factory work could be so easy. The lack of paper work, the extra downtime, the fact that your boss is no longer asking you when the next shipment will be done. The factory worker nervous system has been running on cortisol for so long the absence of urgency feels like a drug. The first month is euphoria. The third month is grief for the time you spent unplugged

This isn't just a guy who lives in Europe making an observation, it's a guy selling his business with the tagline of, "Master the Art of Guidance: The HUNO Method Philosophy"

it's not to say that there is no truth in it, like my example above, your job at the factory could be easier if you use my software but also is it as glamorous as I say? Is your job as bad as I'm trying to make it sound? Can you trust me if you know it's my job to sell this to you? etc...

Your point is fair, Iappreciated being told when someone posts with ulterior motives.

This guy is a weird spiritual business guru.

Why should I care?

[–] VelvetPinkOtter123@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Because while everyone is assuming this is a tweet by just some guy who keeps running into Americans at the Pub who tell him about how great life is after moving, in reality he's a business owner making a sales pitch

Knowing it's a sales pitch, do you still believe he regularly runs into Americans who moved to Italy? Or do you think maybe he's just making that up to try to sell his business to Americans?

That's choice is up to you I guess, but at least now you know

I mean it's a tweet, I wouldn't trust it to be true either way
