How can someone who prescribes communism as their ideology can stand for alienation of people from their labour and humanity? Algorithms trained on this whether llm or youtube are fundamentally alienating technologies, one of the main component of communism is removing alienation from labour. I also don't believe anything just exists, it might exist in a vulgar condition but it is given chape and form by labour so everything just exist and labour exposes.
Let's say I'm an astronomer. I went to school, got my PhD, bought a bad ass telescope and after years of work, I discover a breathtaking nebula. Like to look upon it will bring tears to the most hardened bastard's eyes. Does the time and labor I put into it now mean that I own the vision of that nebula? That no one else can point their equipment up to sky and take exact copies or perceive it through different lenses and filters for a variety of interpretations? Imo, fuck no. Intellectual Property is theft of the Intellectual Commons. It is a form of enclosure. It is a false scarcity engrained into us by the capitalist culture that we are surrounded by. Do we need to come up with some middle ground while fighting against Capitalism to protect workers, sure, but that's not what the Left in the West are doing. They're shooting themselves in the foot; Saying shit like, "We'll hang them with the rope they sell us," while refusing to take advantage of a technology that literally makes up for one of our biggest weaknesses, a lack of willing hands.
AI has the potential to be the custodian of that Commons, a collator of humanity's findings in that vast expanse of intellectual space and a collaborator in our exploration of alternative interpretations that would otherwise never be produced by humanity. I mean, not here in the West, but maybe China will do something amazing with it.
