In the Nordic countries, especially Denmark and Sweden, but not in Iceland, snaps (pronounced [ˈsnaps], Finnish: snapsi), among many nicknames, is a small shot of a strong alcoholic beverage taken during the course of a meal.
Extremely rich, powerful, influential men - it's a men only thing - meet in the California woods in secret. What actually happens there is anybody's guess. My wild hunch is that they let their hair down and act like idiots but they also network.

Oh I was imagining something more romantic, like young men forced to live a double life by the pressures of society, finding this lodge and finally able to express their love and desire for each other.
