Why would you just presume that continued existence is desirable per se? Don't you think the conditions of this existence matter? I do believe that compared to eternal existence in captivity filled with abuse and lack of freedom, salvation through extinction is the more humane option.

I don't see how that would make me an asshole though.

I'm pretty positive that the state that most horses live in as pets is far better than the state most humans are kept in. So I don't really give a shit what your opinion on this is because you got no fucking clue.
