General Discussion for politics in the UK.
Please don't post to both !uk_politics@feddit.uk and !unitedkingdom@feddit.uk .
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric politics, and should be either a link to a reputable news source for news, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread. (These things should be publicly discussed)

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

This comment is so funny I had to check: The ingredients seem kosher BUT they never got Kosher certification so it's technically true.

And when I looked into similar packaged drinks, I found that almost none are kosher. Some of the same drinks ARE kosher when dispensed from a machine, though, so maybe it's a preservatives thing?

Some very solid evidence that Slimer was not Jewish would be his glizzy gobbling. He didn't ask the vendor if it was kosher, he just ate em.

The ingredients seem kosher

You can mix kosher ingredients and get something that isn't kosher, like a cheeseburger.

True, though I couldn't tell how the combination of ingredients would prevent the label either.

And along with the combination restrictions, there are preparation restrictions, too. Gotta get Hebrew National when you invite Jewish friends at the summer BBQ as not all-beef hotdogs are kosher!

....damn now I'm nostalgic and want some latkes and [those folded up artichoke things I forgot the name of]

Who's following kashrut in 2026 (at these prices)? lol, what food a person eats is not a significant sign of their ethnicity.

We're discussing the ethnicity of a silly ghost character based on context clues the writers didn't deliberately put in a film from 40 years ago, don't take it too seriously
