Hmm. Maybe I should go to feddit. I was considering a couple others, but they banned me for some broad shit when I said I wouldn't respect the pronouns of a bully. Cause apparently bullies deserve respect too. 🙄
If you drop your values for someone you don't like you are just hurting the ones you support. Same thing as being transphobic/fatphobic/homophobic to enemies, just means you are OK with it in some situations
So I'm just supposed to let someone get away with being an assfist? I'm not betray any of my values, because I don't respect someone that bullies myself or others, regardless of their fucking gender. Talking about low values, bitch find a mirror.
I mean you could actually confront or insult them based on actual topics and not things that are just as harmful against people you support. Every trans person suffers from transphobic against the enemy as well, because it shows that you only support trans people when they are on your side and not in general
So your use of preferred pronouns is dependant on whether or not you like the person. It's okay to be transphobic as long as it's directed at someone you don't like.
And don't say it's not transphobic just because they're a bully. Deliberately misgendering any trans person is transphobic, full stop.
It is shitty though to misgender people just because you don’t respect them. I would actually count it as discriminatory since you normally wouldn’t misgender a cis person because you don’t respect them, which makes misgendering a trans person for such motives a unique form of hostility that cis people wouldn’t usually experience.
So just please have the common curtesy to gender people correctly, even if they are assholes.
It's also shitty to be a bully. The golden rule works both ways. Fucking fucking apologists. Ya'll act like someone should apologize or be punished for not calling Trump "Mister president". Bunch of broken hypocrites. Lemmy was a mistake.
If someone else being a bully is enough to make you transphobic, you might want to rethink your priorities in life
I'm not a transphobe you bunch of extremist ass plugs. You're choosing to think that because I won't respect bullies regardless of their fucking genders. Fuck yourself and fuck nigh half of lemmy. It was a mistake to think this was a place that treats everyone equally.
That is daft coming from you who doesn't want to treat people equally and finds it acceptable to misgender people at all. Not being a transphobe means that you will not engage in behavior that uniquely transpeople experience but cispeople don't. If it was a cisperson, it wouldn't even cross your mind to misgender them just because you don't respect them, but you are willing to use the fact that someone is trans against them.
So you think we don't treat everyone equally because... checks notes... we won't give you a pass to not treat everyone equally because you think it's justified in your head. Yeah, maybe engaging with people was a mistake for you.
If you aren't going to admit that you are wrong and that it is shitty behavior, then you wont be welcome anywhere else than troll or conservative instances.
