Good news, wrong community?
Some people like to joke that Germany growing their military strength should be a worrying sign for other European countries.
It's not accurate to reality though. Germany today is nothing like Germany in 1914 and 1939.
Not like the AfD is about to become the most popular party, it's really very unlike ~1933 for sure, for sure. (/s)
Yep not like they are constantly brutalizing immigrants and anyone protesting for anything. /s
Remember, '26 Weimar Republic Germany was super liberal and fun...until...'29 crash...and finally fascism '33.
European govs need to resist the coming economic crisis/recession/depression in a way (socialism) that prevents fascists from blaming that on or giving up democracy and liberalism.
Not long ago their Bundeskanzler openly said that Germany unaveringly supports a state activelly commiting a Genocide along ethnic lines because of the dominant ethnicity of that country.
There's also plenty of videos of the abuse of force of the German police towards anti-Genocide demonstrators.
Both in terms of Racism and Authoritarianism the German views (certainly those of their political mainstream) and even practices aren't anywhere as far from their "good old days" as the rest of Europe.
More money for guns means less money for the peoples actual needs
Russia has been struggling to invade the poorest country in europe for more then 5 years now, what makes you think they can invade the richest country in europe?
The US has also threatened to invade nato territory
