Amerikkkans wash their eggs, removing the natural antiseptic layer that prevent most diseases from contaminating it. Therefore they have to keep them in the fridge, while Europeans can keep them at room temperature

Or if you put European eggs in the fridge when you get them home, they will last for months! I think the issue must be the farming lobby in the US not wanting to keep non-diseased livestock
