I'm at 21 users blocked. Seven of them have also been banned, apparently since I blocked them.
I have no doubt I appear on some users' block lists too.
I've blocked many more communities. Mostly foreign language, plus subjects I have zero interest in, like guns or baking. I've blocked a few new communities simply for spamming posts when they start, which is annoying. New mods should be aware of this, don't spam a bunch of posts when you start just to fill the front page, go slowly, wait a quarter or half an hour between posts. Or, maybe that's just me.
Idk how relevant this is given you’re on .world, the largest instance, but when an existing community that nobody on your instance is subscribed to gets its first sub on your instance, all the existing posts get pulled in and show at once in the feed. On a comparatively smaller instance like mine, I definitely notice when someone local first subscribes to an existing comm if I’m browsing all - so it’s not always someone being inconsiderate, sometimes just a quirk of federation
yea i noticed that too, or the posts where the discussion happen also magically gets deleted. some posts i try to see what they said, an error page comes up, so i assume it was blocked.
