The UK government is looking to sell the scheme to a potentially sceptical public by focusing on improved ease of access to public services and the potential to clamp down on fraud. The proposed digital ID will include name, date of birth, nationality and a facial image for biometrics.
The IRS is trying to do this thing as well. So I mailed my return in this year rather than create a Orwellian biometric ID with a for profit company. Apartently REALIDs aren't real enough for the bastards.
