how is gamestop supposed to go to the moon, or bitcoin, in a realistic way that vlc can legitimately compete with?
With their legs, dho.
Let me explain the joke.
Crypto bros and gamestop stock trader always talk about how their shit is going to the moon. They mean that the value of their trading object is increasing incredibly.
VLC is now physically very close to the moon on a laptop from NASA.
The joke is that VLC is closer to the moon than those traders promises that crashed.
I think its derived from the line-graph you look at where the stock price increases (value over time) and instead of the usual zig-zag up and down, as it skyrockets in value the trend line starts shooting up (towards the sky) as if its on a trajectory to hit the moon.
At least thats my understanding of the origin.
is it one of those "bang, zoom, to the moon alice" things?
Similar etymological root possibly.
I think, not one, but I must admit to never having heard that things at all
🚀🌛
It means the price is going very high.
