Probably whole Wes Anderson filmography up until he went off the rails with the formula (Grand Budapest Hotel and later) would fit.
Wrong. It went to shit starting with Isle of the Dogs. GBH was peak
Grand Budapest Hotel is a very good movie (and so is The Isle of Dogs) but it’s around that time when Wes Anderson became too much style over substance imo and OP wanted to avoid „tacky” which I would say those are.
