no, fuck you. if people are like "I like the super mario movie!" and another person is like "actually it's terrible fanservice slop", that's when this comic is appropriate. But in this case, people are upset because april fools is full of bullshit lies and people rightly don't like being lied to just because it's a silly day.

people are upset because april fools is full of bullshit lies

Unlike every other day where the Internet is the bastion of truth and reality.

[–] Holytimes@sh.itjust.works 1 points 6 days ago (4 children)

At least then the lies have reason. It's fucked up reason, but it's reason.

April fools day is FUCKING LYING FOR THE EXPRESS PURPOSE TO FUCK WITH PEOPLE AND LIE FOR THE SAKE OF IT.

If you find yourself falling for these kinds of jokes then you may need to reconsider how you evaluate news.

Have people always had his opinion? I swear I've never seen pushback for April Fools joke articles in the past. Hell, they were anticipated because of fun ones like Blizzard.

Just the "kicked off of every other platform" crybabies that have settled on Lemmy doing what they do

Anything you can think of, there's probably a whole group of people who hate it.

You probably stay away from people like that in your real life, but through the magic of the Internet they get to sit in your living room and yell at you to stop having fun.

Seems to be more prevalent here on the fediverse specifically

People get hurt on Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas too.

I hear this comment in Moe Szyslak's voice.

Back in the Slashdot days, where they let this shit run wild, I hated this day every year.

ZOMG PONIES11!!11

I miss those days. When people don’t have as big of a stick up their ass about one day a year of fun.

[–] kalpol@lemmy.ca 2 points 6 days ago

Reddit had a couple of good ones. Reddit mold and the original Place was funny

[–] W98BSoD@lemmy.dbzer0.com -2 points 6 days ago

No, fuck you!

Like someone else said, I’m glad lying on the internet is only limited to one day… wait…..

Dumbass.

Them expressing a personal dislike of something is not the same as trying to stop others from enjoying it
