It's best to avoid industry processed foods as much as possible.
I gave up sugar without resorting to any alternative sweeteners, and I'm glad I did. My reason was that eating sweet food led to me eating more sweet food, so the best idea was to give it up entirely. The sweetest things I eat now are apples, carrots, and blueberries.
I have limited my sugar intake in a similar fashion but I would never think of carrots as sweet. What kind of carrots are you eating?
Bckyard carrots are also infinitely sweeter than their grocery store cousins
Carrots definitely have a sweet flavour. You may just not have noticed if your daily diet consists of a lot of sugar, then that sweetness may have simply not registered for you.
They taste a lot sweeter when cooked
