What good does dehumanizing do? Genuinely curious

[–] mathemachristian@lemmy.ml 6 points 2 days ago

Catharsis tbh. I am german and it's stressful af since I can never know how much of a freak any given person here. feddit.org stands for pretty much everything wrong in this country, especially for what passes here an "left". Look at the fedditor freakshow in this thread for example: https://lemmy.ml/post/45151394

In this case it might give zionists and their supporters a clue to think whether they are the bad guys.

By using the tactics used by colonizers? The same tactic used by the Nazis against "subhumans"? Is this really the road we want go down again as society?

Do you think that posts on social media are equal to genocide or colonization? It's obvious to anyone with a working brain that ‘human’ is used to mean ‘humane’ here.

Let's see what ‘inhuman’ means: “Of or pertaining to lack of compassion and the indifferently cruel, sadistic or barbaric behavior it brings”. Sounds quite apt to describe the behavior of zionists.

Dehumanizing isn't about being inhumane. It's about denying the people are even human. They are only objects to you when you dehumanize them.

You are arguing for this.

Oh, you're one of those who like to put words into other people's mouths. I don't appreciate your kind and ain't gonna bother talking to you.

What did you think I meant when I asked what good dehumanizing does?

[–] BrainInABox@lemmy.ml 0 points 2 days ago (1 children)

"How can you like dogs when Hitler did too!"

So you disagree that dehuminazing is a bad thing or?
