I was big into civ4, it’s where I first got into history. Maybe that’s the move

Yeah I played it as a kid and it helped me understand the world, even in a simplified form, also the great quotes from famous people when you research a tech, they are stuck in my head

Its amazing that i still play it today moded and its still one of the best games there is of this type, nothing comes as close

Im using Chronicles of Mankind as I think its one of the best mods and it has its own installer so its really easy to use, it adds too many things to mention them in detail but some are: more techs that advance the game to future eras, more complex units and unit mechanics for example ranged units are actually ranged, countries can collapse and break into multiple rebel countries, these can be conquered again or they can become independent, etc. all options can be activated or deactivated too

Oh I just remembered Rise of Nations, another strategy game its more like Age of Empires also played it as a kid great music too
