When I say normie I mean someone who doesn’t care about self-hosting doesn’t really care that much about privacy and you wouldn’t consider deep tech hobbyist.

If you did , how did you do it ? Did they stay ?

Or if someone did convert you , how did they do it ?

Do you reckon she'd have a better time with Pixelfed and Mastodon over Lemmy? Those are more similar to Instagram and Threads, I believe.

Well we were both migrating away from reddit with the API culling since our app died.

Ahh. Still might be worth considering though, since pixelfed and mastodon have a different crowd she might jive with better.

I also use Mastodon a lot. I tried Pixelfed but 90 percent of I see are still Mastodon accounts so I just follow them on Mastodon.

The right client there makes all the difference.
