Why is the title different?
We like to have fun here.
What is this place? A safe space for underrepresented peoples and peoples of color to talk, chill, and vibe.
What are the basic rules of the community?

Follow Lemmy TOS and Community Guidelines. Non negotiable. This is the bedrock and mods will make decisions with this always in mind.

This community is for ethnic minorities and people of color. This is a safe space where such people can freely discuss their struggles, insight, and thoughts without fear. If you are not, we respectfully ask you do not post or comment here. A future community will be established to allow for racial discussions with a mixed userbase. However, remember, comments here must still respect Lemmy TOS and Community Guidelines.

No sectarianism: This is an identity channel not a channel for you all to complain about why XYZ isn't the "one true leftism". Take that to another place.

Stupidpol is not allowed. Stupidpol is class reductionist. We are an identity community. Thinking like stupidpol ignores the struggles of the oppressed, their voices, and their need for unique support. Nothing says oppression more than someone saying that the identity you have is "not real" and that if you only thought like them you'd see what your "real" identity is. Mods reserve the right to ban users and content who promote stupidpol, stupidpol memes, and other class reductionist thinking.

I don't look XYZ and/or sometimes I can pass as white so I don't know if I can post here. Can I?

This place is for ethnic minorities and people of color. This includes those of mixed heritage and those who may be "white" but are of an ethnicity that is a minority in their area (i.e. Kurds, etc) If you've experienced oppression due to your identity that is not based on sexual / gender identification, you are welcome here.

Moreover, for our American audience, we have people from around the world who are "white" but are oppressed due to being a minority in their country. They are and should be welcomed here.

William Frank Jr., born on this day in 1931, was an indigenous environmental leader and treaty rights activist known for his use of the "fish-in", a civil disobedience tactic used to win indigenous rights to natural resources.
A Nisqually tribal member, Frank is particularly known for his grassroots campaign for fishing rights on the tribe's Nisqually River. Frank was arrested more than 50 times in the "Fish Wars" of the 1960s and 1970s because of his intense dedication to the treaty fishing rights cause.
The tribal struggle was taken to the courts in "U.S. v. Washington", with federal judge George Hugo Boldt issuing a ruling in favor of the native tribes in 1974. The "Boldt Decision" established the 20 treaty Indian tribes in western Washington as co-managers of the salmon resource with the State of Washington, and re-affirmed tribal rights to half of the harvestable salmon returning to western Washington.

Incredibly telling that the second a genocide victim gets too uppity every resident cracker on this site immediately goes into “not all men” mode and plays the entire deck of “anti-white racism” cards. Acceptability of genocide isn’t predicated on whether people who share the same religion as the perpetrators support it or not.
In an ideal world every cracker who sees the murdered people of Gaza and whose first concern is about antisemitism would be permabanned. Instead we get months of frothing rage demanding the POC on this site do a song and dance to satisfy the political sensibilities of a super special group of whites. (Yes I know not all Jews are white, but this is an American site so just look at the demographics for the US. Supermajority white and for all intents and purposes functions the same as any other group of whites in the US). Sick and tired of crackers here trotting out POC Jews as props for some kind of “gotcha”)
Imagine if half the discussion of the holocaust on this site was concerned with how it made the Germans look bad. Would the local whites lecture an Auschwitz prisoner who says they want to kill Germans to watch their tongue? My guess is it would depend on their skin tone.
Seems like we have an infestation of “anti-white racism” types that are too cowardly to outright say it so they make it about “antisemitism on the left” instead. Plus, it comes with the bonus of being able to sicc an angry white mob at any POC who steps out of line! Really reminds me of the “genocide denier” accusation tossed out at anybody who questioned the “Uyghur genocide” narrative. Taking something that used to have meaning and turning it into an unfalsifiable moral buzzword.
How dialectical of them to act like a victimized Arab saying "Curse on the Jews" is no different than Richard Spencer saying Jews are undermining the West through "cultural Marxism"
