Why is the title different?
We like to have fun here.
What is this place? A safe space for underrepresented peoples and peoples of color to talk, chill, and vibe.
What are the basic rules of the community?

Follow Lemmy TOS and Community Guidelines. Non negotiable. This is the bedrock and mods will make decisions with this always in mind.

This community is for ethnic minorities and people of color. This is a safe space where such people can freely discuss their struggles, insight, and thoughts without fear. If you are not, we respectfully ask you do not post or comment here. A future community will be established to allow for racial discussions with a mixed userbase. However, remember, comments here must still respect Lemmy TOS and Community Guidelines.

Thinking like stupidpol ignores the struggles of the oppressed, their voices, and their need for unique support. Nothing says oppression more than someone saying that the identity you have is "not real" and that if you only thought like them you'd see what your "real" identity is. This place is for ethnic minorities and people of color. This includes those of mixed heritage and those who may be "white" but are of an ethnicity that is a minority in their area (i.e. Kurds, etc) If you've experienced oppression due to your identity that is not based on sexual / gender identification, you are welcome here.

Moreover, for our American audience, we have people from around the world who are "white" but are oppressed due to being a minority in their country. They are and should be welcomed here.

William Frank Jr., born on this day in 1931, was an indigenous environmental leader and treaty rights activist known for his use of the "fish-in", a civil disobedience tactic used to win indigenous rights to natural resources.
A Nisqually tribal member, Frank is particularly known for his grassroots campaign for fishing rights on the tribe's Nisqually River. Frank was arrested more than 50 times in the "Fish Wars" of the 1960s and 1970s because of his intense dedication to the treaty fishing rights cause.
The tribal struggle was taken to the courts in "U.S. v. Washington", with federal judge George Hugo Boldt issuing a ruling in favor of the native tribes in 1974. The "Boldt Decision" established the 20 treaty Indian tribes in western Washington as co-managers of the salmon resource with the State of Washington, and re-affirmed tribal rights to half of the harvestable salmon returning to western Washington.

Not a single Jewish person died in the zionist synagogue attack and we'll never hear the end of how innocent children shouldn't be harmed but the 160 murdered Iranian children is old news.
At the end of the day, Zionism has almost completely infiltrated every single Western Jewish institution of note, which means almost every single Western Jewish institution of note simultaneously exists as a Zionist institution. Various WANA commentators have repeatedly warned that if righteous God-fearing anti-Zionist Jews do not expel Zionists and Zionism from their synagogues and communities by any means necessary, the job will have to fall on the lap of non-Jews instead. And unlike observant Jews, non-Jews will not be as thoughtful towards Jewish religious sensitivities when the Zionists are being forcefully expelled from their communities.
Also the synagogue organized funding events for israel, its not crazy to point out that someone grieving for his families death will blame an institution closely related to the country that killed his family
Always got to leave that part out of the discourse because ??? I saw some of the early replies saying that he shouldn't have attacked a synagogue, but if its providing material support to the entity then it is a legitimate target. Fuck any and all institutions that prop up "Israel".

Islamophobia after 9/11 was my precursor into international politics and leftism. I see myself more aligned to that cause as a Black person than antisemitism.
There's a reason most colonized countries side with Palestine while most colonizer countries either play both sides or side with israel.
