Didn't the senate just vote to stop this basically along party lines, failing because there are more republicans right now?

Dems dragged their feet on a bipartisan bill for almost 2 weeks, at the behest of Schumer, Jefferies, until Trump actually did the thing and it was too late to stop them. It has literally been in the news since Khanna and Massie introduced the bill for 2 weeks.

If you interpret todays vote as "Dems oppose what Trump is doing..."
