Honestly nothing really.

Discover wanted me to verify my identity by uploading an ID to pay my monthly bill online. So I called and paid by phone and canceled that card.

Ideally it should be fine to do for financial/medical/government platforms, but I don't trust these fuckers to have robust security systems in place for their third party verification service and its 643 close partners.

The big 3 credit reporting agencies go and leak my social security number and critical PII every other year anyway, so it feels kinda silly to take a hard stance, but I really have no other recourse but to try and make it as difficult as possible for my info to get leaked.

Of course my best protection is being dirt poor with abmysal credit, but I really just dont want to deal with the huge hassle of having my identity stolen.
