I heard once that Microsoft employees are not allowed to use Teams to communicate on the job. Not sure why. Probably because it sucks or is terribly insecure.

No idea who told you this, but MS employees use Teams exclusively.

As for it being terrible, it's unfortunately hard to find a competitor that does better with the same feature set (video/screen sharing/text channels/sso/tenants/etc). Many get close (like Slack) but none have the whole package.

It is truly astonishing how a company with their resources could have a program like Teams be so terrible for so long. Matrix/Element have advanced faster than Teams.
