LOL All they need to do is stop pushing what they call "AI" into everything they make, turn it into a opt-in only feature, allowing people to remove every fucking bit of Coslop from their PCs. They don't want to because it would prove what they already know: Microslop is a Sloperator and admitting the truth would be temporarily painful to their earnings. Fixing things would take far too long, so Microslop would prefer to not do that work. Satya needs to get over it and admit defeat.
They're probably just terrified of being the ones to burst the bubble if they do that. It would be a pretty damning indictment of the "success" of AI if their telemetry revealed that the majority of users disable it completely once they learn that it's possible. The whole thing is only being held up by the illusions of it being ubiquitous and already widely used by people. If their own hard data demonstrate that the majority prefer to remove or disable it completely, that would be a disaster for them. Their entire current business plan, as well as the investments of the last few years, suddenly vanish in a puff of smoke as soon as word gets out, and I'm sure they know it.
That would be Satya's major fear...Which is why they desperately cling to the lie of "AI" and are trying to jam it into everything. They need to cause everyone to believe the hopeposting, gaslighting, make sure the unhinged techbros cling to LLM bullshit like it will save their lives. As if Microslop fails, like you said, their major investment in LLM and machine learning will vanish in a rancid fart cloud that everyone will smell from miles away. As a lot of companies will be affected by the admission of defeat.
