1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

The Washington Post reported that activists are working with the White House on an executive order to declare a “national emergency” over America’s elections and pave the way for a power grab.

“Pro-Trump activists who say they are in coordination with the White House are circulating a 17-page draft executive order that claims China interfered in the 2020 election as a basis to declare a national emergency that would unlock extraordinary presidential power over voting,” reported the Post‘s Isaac Arnsdorf. “President Donald Trump has repeatedly previewed a plan to mandate voter ID and ban mail ballots in November’s midterm elections, and the activists expect their draft will figure into Trump’s promised executive order on the issue.”

Peter Ticktin, a MAGA activist in favor of the executive order, told the Post that “we have a situation where the president is aware that there are foreign interests that are interfering in our election processes,” and that “the president has to be able to deal with it,” including by banning mail-in ballots and certain voting machines.

UsernameHere will argue that Clinton and Harris lost because they were women, or because the left didn't "vote blue no matter who", not seeing the irony of their claim.

Liberals don't have ideals, they flip flop to whatever opinion is convenient for them. One day women and men are equal, one day women are too weak to win elections. One day the left never won an election because it's irrelevant in numbers, one day the left lost the election by not voting for their zionist candidate.

They have the debate skills of current Charlie Kirk.

Pretend to ask question, don't listen. Spout something or ask a derailing question to make it look like they thought it through and then blame you on character attacks.

Whatever is the "winning" thought is not any form of effective communication I have ever seen. But it sure gets interaction. Their entire life on Lemmy seems to be this.

You’re making up an imaginary argument to argue against? Yeah that sounds like something a leftists would do.

Leftists have no ideals, they flip flop every election cycle when the opposition tricks them into not voting using whatever hot topic is relevant at the time. One day we need to stop Trump. The next day it is ok to not vote and let Trump take over and end elections and persecute immigrants, LGBTQ, women, people of color and build a new resort on Gaza beach.

So I understand that you resent leftists that didn't vote for Harris, because that lost the election?

Q.E.D.

I didn’t bring that up because I resent them. Just to give evidence of how bad their judgement is and to prove how much of a liability it is for democrats to pander to them.

I am citing a great thinker: "Leftist claiming they can win elections is like a fat sports fan criticizing the athlete that actually plays the game and has the ability to win."

So which is it, could leftists have won the election, or are they irrelevant, which is it?

Leftist can’t win nation wide elections until voters want them to. The majority of which are to the right or center of the ideological spectrum.

Leftists claiming they know how to win elections better than democrats are lying to themselves as we can prove using actual nation wide election results.

Leftists that cannot win elections should not be attacking the party giving them a platform, they should be trying to win over voters.
