Our galactic citizens have requested more specific rules, so here are a few.

The general idea is, if you're looking here for rules, you're probably someone who doesn't need to have them spelled out. You're fine. But anyway:

  1. This is a community for Star Wars memes. This means typically screenshots of Star Wars media with some text or context that's meant to be funny and/or thoughtful. All SW media is welcome: movies, games, comic books, fanart... Other kinds of content, like video links or meta memes (about this community, or Lemmy), are fine as well, just keep it on topic.

  2. We are all friends here, and love (sometimes love to hate) Star Wars. Be nice to each other.

  3. As fans of fictional media, we can be passionate. If you very strongly disagree with something or someone, take a deep breath before reacting. Anger leads to the dark side!

  4. Everything in Star Wars has happened a long time ago, in a galaxy far away, and it's a rich universe of millions of words and millions of years of history. So current Earthly matters really shouldn't concern us here. In other words, leave politics, philosophies and convictions behind the door. This applies even if it's about something related to Star Wars.

  5. Original content is preferred. Reposts are fine, just please limit to a maximum of 3 per day, per citizen. It is recommended, but not required, to mark original memes as (OC) and reposts as (repost).

  6. Local mods are the Jedi council. They may take actions that are necessary to maintain peace and stability of the Republic, even beyond the rules outlined here. Follow their guidance.

  7. Regular rules of the Lemmy.world instance apply.

Wow I'm so glad that red circle was there, I don't think I would have spotted the conveniently placed text otherwise. Thank God the color red really stands out so my attention is grabbed across the stratosphere, whoever made this was a saint cause I wouldn't be able to laugh at the joke since legally I can't see it unless there's a red circle to point me in the right direction. The red circle has helped me in so many occasions such as looking for my failing grades, enjoying great memes such as this. And finding my own ass which the doctors keep saying is a bacterial infection and I need to get an amputation but I trust the internet more than the man who checked me up for 17 years. Thank you big red circle, I wouldn't be able to live with out you, I think I'm going to tell my wife's boyfriend about how much I appreciate you but I think he's eating my wife out and I've only get 5 minutes left for play time so brb.

what's really fun, is they put the red circle UNDER anakin's profile pic thingy.

that's a lot of effort.

I love meme archeology. Someone posted the original meme to facebook, someone else made the comment, a third person then applied the red circle and reposted the meme + comment as a new image, then a fourth person added Anakin. Like peeling an onion.

So much effort it requires a group?

Lol.

None of us are as dumb as all of us.

I don't know about requiring a group, it's more that this image evolved into its current state by being passed through several hands, each with their own twist on the image. I don't think it's a coincidence that we're seeing it surface in a Star Wars comm presently and the addition of Anakin seems to be the most recent component. I imagine these are the kinds of hallmarks that future historians will look at when analyzing how memes of the current era evolved.

But I am a little confused about how I should feel about it. I really wish there were some sort of purple pentagram over an explicit emotion indicator on this safe picture
