for real. they should be LITERALLY AND PHYSICALLY SCREAMING in the halls. When told “how unprofessional” they should respond with “my opponents are fascists. fuck professionalism.”
BUT since they are not burning shit down, one can only assume they are in on the fascism too.
Then do it
i am not an elected official nor with enough backing finance to support getting fired for the outrage, unlike the ppl in office who’s literal job is to do it. life under capitalism makes it difficult to fight after a certain point.
so i stick do doing local fights. I do those.
Are you 'burning shit down'?
What does that have to do with elected officials not using the power they've been granted?
Yes all that minority party power.
You are falling for Chuck Schumer's lies. Back in October, the US government was shut down for over 30 days because the Democrats were using their power to force the Republicans to the bargaining table. However, it worked too well and regular people started notcing that the Dems had power, even as the minority party, so Establishment Dems conceded and reopened the government. In return, the Dems got nothing for the regular working people who gave them that power.
The minority party is not helpless. We saw this under the Obama admin where Mitch McConnell led the Republican Minorty party to rampage and obstruct the Democrats at every turn. The Dems have power, they are choosing not to exert any of it.
Not saying theyre helpless. They should do what they can.
But... When Democrats are in power people complain about Democrats. When Republicans are in power people complain about... Democrats.
It's exhausting. Find a new schtick or actually participate in primaries to get these people out.
People complain about the Dems because they have not been using the powers they've been granted. They are elected to pass policies and fight the Republican fascist agenda and they have seemingly rolled over more often than not. Rachet Effect and all that.
It sucks that hearing these complaints is exhausting to you, but as can be seen from this thread, there are lots of people making excuses for the Democrat party that seemingly need to hear this stuff. These folks are not helping primary useless Dems, instead spending their time and energy deflecting criticism away.
These people just convince everyone that any and every dem is useless and decrease turnout.
Compared to the Republicans who get no real criticism as it's just accepted. You might not like that but it's the truth.
"Shouting in the hallways"?
a) where I can, yes. b) local politics, I am involved in. but i am not an elected federal official with ability to affect change and choice to not do it c) i serve the mutual aid part of my mindset as a first responder over 20 years now d) and finally I support systems who help others learn and grow.
are you?
What have you burned down? Sounds like you’re mostly working within the system to improve it and being a reasonable professional serving the greater good in the best way you know, which is (apparently) lame.
lol. physically burning things down - as a firefighter i tend to do the opposite. but holding people accountable in a public forum like our dumb selectmen meetings and such - yes, I have done. i do not have the financial freedom to cane a fascist in the halls like the good ole days.
No screaming in the hallways tho' ?
naa. no voice.
