Well you should definitely go the official route if possible, but your local LGBTQ crowd would be more able to guide you in the right direction as far as DIY goes. I know my first step if I still lived there would be to go to the alternative pubs on board game night and start talking to autistic looking people dressed in black. Yes I know people don't "look autistic" but if we're being totally honest some people really do. I'm one of them. There's a large overlap between the LGBTQ and neurodivergent communities and they accounted for 80% of my social circle when I lived in Edinburgh. Good people, would definitely be able to get estrogen within a relatively short time.
I don't think I'm allowed to mention specific places on this com, but there are websites to order hormones on the grey market. I know some don't deliver to the UK and they sometimes have logistical problems or other issues (I ordered a vial from a place in South America over a month ago and it hasn't been sent yet).
There are also online pharmacies in India that will drop ship hormones in pretty much any form (but they may or may not get pinched by customs).
Alternatively if you live near one of the larger airports I believe that as a cis woman you can get HRT over the counter in either Spain or Portugal (not sure which).
If the NHS is unhelpful I would prioritise either the local alternative community, or trips to Spain with an empty suitcase.
My social skills are horrible(even considering neurodivergent people which I definitely am) so going out and talking to someone about that irl isn’t really going to happen.
I’ve looked up a few potential suppliers online and no luck yet.
Can’t see myself going out the country let alone out the house for it lol.
I guess I’ll just wait for my gp to get back to me on the hormone testing and hopefully get prescribed it that way.
I got diagnosed ADHD last year and have been referred for autism assessment so my mental health situation is known to the GP for these things among others……
This server and community is pro DIY and we have a DIY community with lots of links and guides. I don't recommend doing anything until after the blood test however so you have an idea of what you might need. If your GP can help this would be ideal, but if not then we will be here.
Thank you. I am curious about DIY…
I’m ready to get your info on DIY if possible
