What with microtransactions and whatever in the PC environment, even in paid games, it's often more profitable to target the high-end of gamers who have more disposable income, then to target the median gamer.
It's like how airplanes are doing less coach, and more business and first class.
But the games that scale the best are the micro transaction games because everyone can play them. Warzone, fortnite, overwatch, mobas, cs2, etc. Monster hunter needs to sell volume almost all crapcom games do
