Yeah, but can you fold em after a wash?

[–] Biffsbraincell@lemmy.zip 14 points 5 days ago (2 children)

So you grab the elastic part and shake it out by that. Then try to find the seem. The fold it once or twice, now you roll and ball the rest of it up and cram it in the cabinet before it unrolls.

i just roll the elastic band ones into a tube. its more stable.

Fold in half > nest the pockets > fold into quarters > nest the pockets > flatten out as much wrinkling from the pocket as possible> fold rest of way like a flat sheet

Look like a praying monk while doing all of that lol...!

I actually finally learned how to do this at 42 years of age, and I was so happy. Problem is now I can't tell a normal sheet from a fitted sheet when they're folded.

[–] rumschlumpel@feddit.org 2 points 5 days ago (1 children)

... fitted sheets aren't the normal ones?

[–] Jaycifer@piefed.social 1 points 5 days ago (1 children)

I believe fitted sheets have the elastic to fit around a mattress, while a normal sheet does not have the elastic and typically goes between you and the comforter.

Sheets without an elastic seem impractical to me.

In my culture we use fitted sheets on the bottom and normal sheets stay between you and the blankets or other covers.

I've noticed when travelling this is not how it's done in some places though where there's nothing separating you from the covers or duvet.
