For context, all of this was over eight years ago. It was part of a series of videos attempting to put human faces of political issues. He also visited Haiti.
If we want his opinion on the genocide of the Palestinian people, we should really try to find recent interviews or podcasts.

If he was just doing journalism then you have nothing to worry about. The image speaks for itself.
It's about building a rapport. Journalists make friends with people on the ground all the time to try and gain an authentic perspective.

Yeah, Lemmy is sadly still an American/Western forum of discussion. Defending Israel has always been the priority for westerners. History will remember them.
